Reflow Text to Remove Unwanted Paragraph Markers

Applies to: Word 2007, DocXtools v6.0

Even the shortest document has a sense of style and formatting, but occasionally you may come across a document with unnecessary and unwanted paragraph markers at the end of every line. While the paragraph markers may maintain the document's sense of style they are cumbersome to manage when making edits and changes.

You may encounter this pesky challenge when working with scanned or EDGAR documents; emails that have been opened in Word or in Word documents that have been generated in other applications such as Adobe Acrobat.

Fortunately, the 'Reflow' function in DocXtools helps text flow as it was intended and can help you get a document back into editable shape quickly.

You can apply reflow to an entire document or a selected section of a document. The screen captures below show where these tools can be found in an out-of-the-box installation of DocXtools v6. If you find them useful, you may want to talk to your DocXtools administrator about placing them more prominently on the DocXtools toolbar.
